- Mark and Tater
Tater’s new owner, Mark Medford, is riding on cloud nine after his Amateur win in Nashville, TN, on September 26-28. AFC Jamestown’s Super Spud, Tater, was bred by David Maronge and obtained by Mark and Suzanne Medford last year. Mark has done well with Tater this year with a Fourth place at Bluegrass, an Open jam at Tall Pines, and now an Amateur win at Middle Tennessee. Mark and Suzanne are some of the nicest people you would want to meet, and we wish them much luck!
Amateur Judges Yvonne Hays and Tami Thompson set up a first series land test with a 450 yard long retired bird directly behind a 240 flyer station. The go bird was shot at 70 yards and slightly offline to the right. All birds were thrown from right to left. The land blind was run past the flyer crates and through a row of cover at approximately 250 yards. The water blind was down a shore with the wind pushing dogs into the bank and over a point, back into the water, and past some cover where dogs found the planted bird. The fourth series was a triple on water with a long retired 300 yards across a pond thrown left to right, a gun station midway across the pond on a point on the left shore thrown left to right, and the go bird flyer 70 yards from the line on the right.
