Bear Branch is the host of what is being groomed as the premier retriever sporting event in the country. Up to 40 dogs competed head-to-head over three days in realistic hunting scenarios, field trial type setups, and hunting test setups for prestige, cash, and prizes. Teams ran in at least 4 different setups over land and in water, including marks and blinds, to determine the best all around hunting/competition retriever for this given weekend. This year was their third annual competition, and it took place on Feb. 6-8, 2009.
