Only one event remains to qualify for the 2009 Crown Championship in May at Little Rock, Arkansas. Competitors in all three events may qualify for the end-of-the-year Crown Championship. Additionally, teams in the Retriever Trials can compete for the Avery Sporting Dog™ Cup and the Avery® Triple Crown. See the Super Retriever Series website at www.superretrieverseries.com for additional details.
To be invited to the Crown, a retriever/handler team must win the Avery Sporting Dog Cup, finish in the top 3 at a qualifying event, or finish in the top 3 at the previous Crown Championship; but this year, SRS has added another option. Starting Monday, March 16, 2009, fans of the Super Retriever Series will be able to cast their votes online for the SRS Pro Wildcard slot in the 2009 SRS Crown Championship.
Teams that are eligible for the wildcard slot are the highest placing team from any event who has not already qualified for the Crown provided the handler has not already qualified a dog for the Crown.
The eligible teams are:
Port Clinton: Scott Greer & Tucker
Firewater: Keith Allison & Slim
Grand Island: Rody Best & Buzz
Miami: Chris Brinegar & Mini
Huntsville: Thad Simmons & Maggie
Somerville: Dave Wilson & Kodak
Voting ends Monday, 3/28 at 12:58 pm!
