2009 Dog of the Year FC AFC MERCY
2009 FindRetrievers Dog of the Year Award goes to FC AFC MERCY MERCY MERCY ME
FindRetrievers began tracking AKC Retriever Field Trial All-Age and Derby high point dogs in September 2008. A trend began emerging that some very talented dogs were not receiving recognition for their particularly unique and worthy accomplishments.
The High Point Open, Amateur, and Derby dogs have been recognized and published for many years through Retriever Field Trial News. While obviously these are the very finest dogs of the year and are very deserving of all the recognition they receive, there are some consistent ‘All Around All-Age‘ competitors who have accumulated high point standings in both the Open and the Amateur stakes combined.
FindRetrievers would like to highlight these very special dogs who excel in both the Open and the Amateur stakes throughout the year. The dog that has accumulated the most points in the combined stakes will be awarded the FindRetrievers Dog of the Year trophy and gift. FindRetrievers would also like to acknowledge the Runner-Up due to the particularly unique athletic and competitive ability required to accumulate points in both of these highly competitive stakes.

2009 Dog of the Year Trophy
The FindRetrievers Dog of the Year Award is tabulated by AKC Points earned in all Open All-Age and Amateur All-Age Stakes combined in one calendar year. To qualify a dog must earn points in both stakes between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31. Points earned by the winning dog at Nationals are included. Points earned by Amateurs in Open stakes only count towards Open points.
The FindRetrievers 2009 Dog of the Year Award goes to John and Mary Stracka’s FC AFC Mercy Mercy Mercy Me with 41 Total All-Age points. The Runner-Up Dog of the Year goes to Bill and Gay Fruehling’s FC AFC Wood River’s Franchise with 40 Total All-Age points.

Dog of the Year will receive a Custom Commemorative Crystal Portrait and a 3 day stay in one of the Deluxe Cabins at Coolwater Farms, a world class retriever training facility near Bruce, MS. Runner-Up will receive a $100 gift certificate from Dogs Afield.

Good job Tammy. Congratulations to winner and runner up as well as the owners/handlers. Nice award… Have a great weekend at Coolwater. I was there earlier in the week and it is a retriever training paradise.

Tammy,
I was so glad to see a combined total for dogs. The pictures of Mercy and Shaq add even more. I don’t have the points but would have loved the prize at Alex’s farm. Keep warm and keep reporting.
