Disease Reported In Warren, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Eastpointe
Veterinarians are attributing the outbreak of leptospirosis in the Detroit, Michigan, area to bacteria-carrying rats, displaced by road construction in the Interstate 696 and Interstate 94 area. The bacterial infection, for which several animals in the area have tested positive, is prompting veterinarians to advise owners to have their pets vaccinated against the potentially deadly disease.
