Veterinarians say they are seeing an increase in the number of dogs diagnosed with valley fever, an illness indicated by lethargy, coughing, lack of appetite and other signs. “You do see valley fever a little more commonly after you have wet weather because it is a fungus that lives in the soil and it spoilages when it rains and then the wind blows it around,” one veterinarian said.
